About Us
Run for Their Lives (RFTL) is the premier annual 5km charity run organized by the Rotaract Club of Colombo Uptown in aid of the Apeksha Cancer Hospital in Maharagama.
Since its inception in 2010, RFTL has grown into a national movement. Over the past 11 editions, we have raised over LKR 60 Million, creating a direct lifeline for essential medication and equipment. We run to ensure that no one fights cancer alone. Join the movement today.

When and where is RFTL 2026 taking place?
Mark your calendars for Sunday, 08th of February, 2026. We will be taking over the streets of Colombo! The exact starting point and route will be announced closer to the date on our social media channels, but expect the same electric atmosphere you know and love.
What is the donation amount to join the run?
RFTL is a charity movement, not a commercial event. A minimum donation of LKR 1,600 secures your registration, the official RFTL T-shirt, and entry to the event.
Since 100% of proceeds go to the Apeksha Cancer Hospital, we warmly encourage you to donate more than the minimum if you are able!
Is RFTL just a 5km run?
Definitely not! It’s a complete Sunday morning experience. While the 5km run is the main event, the finish line opens up to our vibrant Activity Village. Look forward to fitness challenges, recovery zones, interactive games, and plenty of sponsor stalls to explore. We’ll have a DJ keeping the energy high, making it the perfect space to cool down and celebrate with the community.
How and when do I collect my T-shirt?
T-shirt collection will be facilitated exclusively on the event day, starting from 6:00 AM at the venue. To make this process fast and smooth, we have set up dedicated stalls for specific sizes (S, M, L, XL, etc.). Simply head to the stall matching your size, present your registration QR code to our team, and you’ll be ready to run in no time!
I can't make it to the event. Can I still support the cause?
Absolutely. The fight against cancer needs everyone. If you cannot attend, you can still be a lifeline by making a secure direct donation via our official partner, Karuna.lk.
